Swap adjacent gems to create sets of 3 gems of the same color lined up horizontally or vertically. Three same-colored gems in a row will create a match.

Flame Gem - Match 4 gems to create a Flame Gem. Match that Flame Gem to ignite an explosion that will take out all neighboring gems and trigger other Flame Gems within its radius.

Star Gem - Match 5 gems in a "L" or "T" shape to create a Star Gem. Match the Star Gem to unleash its power, removing one column and one row of gems from the board.

Hypercube - Match 5 gems horizontally or vertically to create a Hypercube. Use the Hypercube by swapping it with an adjacent gem to turn all gems of that color on the board into a shower of points. Something awesome will now happen if you match two Hypercubes. Are you able to make it happen?

Multiplier Gem - These gems are created by creating large cascades or using power gems to destroy a lot of gems at one time. Matching the Multiplier Gem will multiply all points you get from then until the end of the game.

Speed bonus - Build up a speed bonus by continually making matches. You need to make 3 matches in about 2 seconds to start your speed bonus. The higher your Speed Bonus, the more time you have in between matches before it goes away. The Speed Bonus starts at +200 and caps out at +1000. This amount is added to every match you make.

Blazing Speed - Keep your speed bonus up and you will start to fill your speed bonus meter, the text displayed for your speed bonus will change color from white to orange. Once your meter is full you will be in Blazing Speed! where each match you make will have the same effect as detonating a Flame Gem until Blazing Speed subsides.

How do I play against my Facebook friends/invite my friends to play with me?

Playing against your friends is easy! Anyone in your friends list who plays Bejeweled Blitz will show up on the leader board to the right of the game. If there is a friend you want to play against who has yet to discover Bejeweled Blitz, you can invite them to play one of two ways. (1) Scroll to the bottom of your leader board and select "Invite Friends" or (2) click the "Challenge Friends" button located in between the up and down scroll arrows on the bottom of the leader board.

Then, simply click the friend(s) you would like to invite and press the Send Bejeweled Blitz Invitation button

Note: You can only see 49 of your top scoring friends (plus yourself) on the leader boards.

How do I bookmark Bejeweled Blitz for easier access?

Bookmarking Bejeweled Blitz is simple and will enable you to access the game much easier. The following are the three steps needed to bookmark Bejeweled Blitz:

Click "Bookmark" on the Bejeweled Blitz header bar
The following prompt will appear. This prompt explains that you can add Bejeweled Blitz to both your Facebook bookmarks and your browser bookmarks. Adding both bookmarks will allow for easiest access to Bejeweled Blitz. To add a Facebook bookmark, press the "Add Bookmark" button and go to step 3 below. To add a browser bookmark, Press "Ctrl+D" (on Windows) or "Command+D" (on Mac).
The final prompt (shown below) will appear and you'll press the "Add Bookmark" button to finalize the bookmarking process.

How can I send a "Jewel Jab"?

The Jewel Jab is another way to get your friends to play Bejeweled Blitz. Anyone on your leader board can be "Jabbed" by pressing the Jewel Jab button Jewel Jabber button

to the right of your friend's name.

A Jewel Jabber window will be displayed where you can enter your own Jewel Jab or use the arrow buttons to scroll through other "Jewel Jab" choices.

What are Coins and Boosts?

Coins are virtual currency you earn when playing Bejeweled Blitz. Coins can be used to purchase Boosts.

Boosts are game play enhancing items that provide unique benefits. You can have up to three boosts active at any time and each boost lasts for three games. Trying out different boost combinations will help maximize their overall effectiveness. The following are descriptions of boosts currently available in Bejeweled Blitz:

How do I stop notifications from posting on my Facebook profile or appearing in my Friends' news feeds?

To stop notifications posting to your Facebook profile, and therefore stop them appearing in your Friends' newsfeed, please do the following.

At the top of your Facebook page, click:

Additional Permissions
Uncheck the box "Publish recent activity (one line stories) to my wall"
Click OK

How do I turn email notifications on or off?

If you would like to control the email notifications Bejeweled Blitz sends to you, at the top of your Facebook page, click:

Notifications
You will notice a list of Facebook features and boxes next to each feature under the heading email. On the right of the screen, click Other Applications under View Settings for: or scroll down to Other Applications at the bottom of the page
Next to Bejeweled Blitz, check/uncheck the box to turn email notifications on/off
Click the Save Changes button

How do I turn the sound on/off?

Click the Menu button that is displayed during game play
Click the Sounds On/Off
You may also want to check your computers sound settings if you're not hearing sounds as expected.

How does the contest work, exactly?

Bejeweled Blitz contests are based on a prize drawing system. Eligibility is determined by the team score level you reach during the duration of the contest. Once you reach the team score amount required for the prize, you are eligible for the drawing. At the end of the contest, we will randomly select the contest winner from the pool of qualified players.

Note: The exact rules of the contest may change from week to week. Be sure to look for the "Official Rules" on the game page.

How is my team score calculated?

Your Team Score is a combination of all the scores on your leader board with your score counting twice. Your Team Score is unique to you since everyone has a unique friends list.

Note: If you win the drawing, you are the only winner. Your friends do not share in your winnings. The same holds true if someone on your friends list wins a drawing. This drawing encompasses all qualifying players.

I don't live in the USA, UK, or Canada. Why isn't my country included in the prize contests?

It's not that we don't love you guys... We do! Running these sorts of contests is a far bigger headache and far more expensive than most people realize. We're happy to be offering the contest for those that happen to be eligible, and we really are sorry that some of you are excluded.

In the future, we hope to address the legal hurdles necessary for more countries to be eligible to participate in our contests. Most of all, we hope we're providing a fun game that everyone in every country enjoys playing!

How will I know I have won the contest?

The winner will be notified through email and sent a message through Facebook.

If I receive notification that I have won, how do I claim my prize?

All instructions on how to claim their prize will be provided with notification to the winner.

I reached the score to win the prize, where is my prize?

We congratulate you on reaching a score that qualifies for the drawing. The contest is, however, a drawing based system and not an automatic entitlement.

What about cheaters?

We take cheating seriously and are taking steps to make Bejeweled Blitz more secure, but due to the nature of online games, it will always be possible for truly determined players to find a way to cheat. The overwhelming majority of our players, however, play the game as intended and earn their scores fairly.

Keep in mind that if another player cheats, it does not affect your chances to win our contest in any way. Our contest is based on a drawing, and is NOT a competition. If there are players out there with higher team scores than you, they are no more likely to win the contest than you are. In fact, players with scores that were obviously obtained via cheating will be disqualified from the contest.
